Gujarat-based Sterling Hospitals has announced the appointment of Santosh Marathe as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, marking the beginning of what the group calls a next phase of expansion, operational consolidation and infrastructure upgrades.
With more than two decades of leadership experience across major Indian and global healthcare systems, Marathe brings a strong track record in streamlining hospital networks, enhancing clinical performance, and improving organizational efficiency. Prior to joining Sterling, his roles included senior leadership positions at prominent institutions giving him broad exposure to large-scale hospital operations, multi-specialty care coordination and infrastructure management.
In an official statement, Sterling Hospitals said that Marathe will lead strategic efforts to expand and upgrade services across its network. The hospital chain Gujarat’s first corporate hospital group currently runs multiple NABH-accredited facilities spread over Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot and Gandhidham together offering over 1,000 beds including specialised oncology units.
Marathe expressed his vision for the future: “We are entering a transformative phase and while enhancing capabilities at our existing centres, we will also explore strategic expansion to bring specialised, multi-disciplinary care closer to more communities across the region.”
With this leadership change, Sterling Hospitals aims to strengthen its clinical and operational backbone signalling commitment to expanded healthcare access and improved quality of care for patients across Gujarat and beyond.
