Maj Gen AVS Anil Kumar has assumed charge as the new Commandant of Command Hospital (WC), with the leadership transition taking place on September 25, 2026.
An alumnus of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, Maj Gen Anil Kumar is a specialist in Nuclear Medicine and has held a range of clinical and administrative responsibilities during his career with the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS).
Prior to his current appointment, he served in key positions at several major AFMS institutions, including Command Hospital Air Force (CHAF), Bengaluru, Command Hospital (SC) and Army Hospital (Research & Referral).
His experience across specialised medical services and hospital administration brings both clinical and organisational expertise to his new assignment. As Commandant, he will oversee the hospital’s clinical services and administrative operations while continuing its healthcare services for Armed Forces personnel and their families.
His appointment marks the latest transition in leadership at Command Hospital (WC) and adds to his extensive experience across the AFMS healthcare network.
