Israeli medical technology company P-Cure Ltd. and Bengaluru-based ARISTION Proton Center Private Limited have signed an agreement to develop a network of compact proton therapy centres and dedicated proton therapy infrastructure across India, involving an investment of ₹1,900 crore.
Under the agreement, ARISTION will deploy P-Cure’s compact, synchrotron-based proton therapy systems at centres planned across the country. The first facility is proposed at Sentient Health City in Jakkur, Bengaluru, as part of a 660-bed quaternary healthcare campus focused on oncology, artificial intelligence and advanced care solutions.
The companies said the project will subsequently expand to Kochi and other cities, with the aim of creating a wider proton therapy network in India.
Proton therapy is a form of radiation treatment that uses positively charged protons to target cancerous tissue. Unlike conventional radiation, which can continue beyond the tumour, proton beams can be precisely controlled to deliver radiation to a defined depth, potentially limiting exposure to surrounding healthy tissue.
Lohith G. Reddy, CMD and radiation oncologist at ARISTION Proton Center, said the partnership is intended to expand access to proton and ion precision treatment in India and support the development of multiple centres rather than a single facility.
P-Cure CEO Michael Marash said the agreement marks the company’s entry into India and represents an important step in expanding its proton therapy technology into the country.
