Dr. Naval Kishore Gupta, one of the most respected medical professionals in Uttar Pradesh and a pioneer of modern healthcare in the Rohilkhand region and Chairman of Gangasheel Group, passed away on June 25 at the age of 81.


A senior-most doctor and visionary institution builder, Dr. N.K. Gupta laid the foundation of what would become the Gangasheel Group of Hospitals and Institutions. His journey began with the establishment of Sheel Hospital, a modest healthcare facility that later grew into the renowned Gangasheel Group, serving thousands of patients across the region.

Over several decades, Dr. N.K. Gupta played a transformative role in strengthening healthcare infrastructure in Rohilkhand. Through his dedication, leadership and commitment to patient care, he helped make advanced medical services accessible to people in Bareilly and surrounding districts. His contributions extended beyond healthcare, as he was also instrumental in promoting medical education and institutional development.


According to a condolence message issued by the Gangasheel family, Dr. N.K. Gupta passed away on June 25. The news has been met with profound grief across the medical fraternity, former students, patients and well-wishers, many of whom remember him as a compassionate physician, mentor and visionary leader.


His mortal remains were kept at Gangasheel Hospital for final respects, while the last rites were performed at the Cremation Ground in Model Town, Bareilly.


Dr. N.K. Gupta’s passing marks the end of an era in Rohilkhand’s healthcare landscape. His legacy lives on through the institutions he built and the countless lives he touched through his lifelong service to medicine and society.
