Diagnostics major Dr Lal PathLabs has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary in Dubai marking a significant step in its international expansion strategy. The company’s board approved the formation of the new entity Dr Lal PathLabs FZCO in the United Arab Emirates as part of its efforts to explore growth opportunities in overseas markets. According to a regulatory disclosure the subsidiary has been incorporated in Dubai’s free zone jurisdiction and will be wholly owned by Dr Lal PathLabs. The move is aimed at expanding the company’s presence beyond India and strengthening its position in the diagnostics and healthcare services sector in the Middle East.
The Dubai subsidiary forms part of a broader growth strategy unveiled by the company alongside its FY26 financial results. During the same board meeting Dr Lal PathLabs approved the acquisition of Shahbazkers Diagnostic Centre Private Limited which will become a wholly owned subsidiary further expanding the company’s domestic diagnostics network. Industry observers note that the UAE serves as a strategic healthcare hub connecting markets across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. Establishing a presence in Dubai could provide Dr Lal PathLabs with access to a larger patient base opportunities for partnerships and a platform for regional expansion.
The company has not yet disclosed the scale of investment or the timeline for operationalizing the Dubai subsidiary. However management indicated that the incorporation remains subject to the necessary regulatory and statutory approvals in the UAE and India. Dr Lal PathLabs is one of India’s leading diagnostic service providers operating a nationwide network of laboratories, patient service centres and collection points. The company has been actively pursuing both organic and inorganic growth opportunities to strengthen its market position amid increasing demand for diagnostic and preventive healthcare services.
