Gautam Adani has announced a ₹150 crore rural vision care initiative in Bihar aimed at expanding affordable eye treatment and healthcare access in underserved regions.

The project includes the development of the Adani Centre for Eye (ACE) and Adani Training in Ophthalmic Medicine (ATOM) in Mastichak, near Patna, in partnership with Akhand Jyoti Foundation.

According to the announcement, the initiative is expected to support up to 3.3 lakh eye surgeries annually and provide training to around 1,000 eye health professionals every year. The programme will focus on surgical care, rural outreach, and workforce development in ophthalmology.

During the event, the Adani Foundation also announced plans to establish a 200-bed hospital in Pirpainti in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district to strengthen healthcare services in eastern Bihar.

Additionally, Gautam Adani announced a further ₹500 crore commitment for expanding affordable vision care and community healthcare services to underserved regions across India through a newly proposed “Adani Akhand Jyoti Foundation”.

The initiative is part of the Adani Group’s broader social investment efforts in healthcare, education, and skill development.
