The Jewar-Noida Airport region is set for a major healthcare and industrial transformation, with the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) approving a series of projects focused on medical infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, higher education and connectivity. The plans are aimed at developing the region as an integrated healthcare, education and investment destination.

500-Acre Medical Hub in Sectors 13 and 14

One of the most significant decisions is the proposed development of a 500-acre medical hub across Sectors 13 and 14. The project is expected to encourage the development of advanced healthcare facilities and create employment opportunities in healthcare and allied services.

480-Acre University Township Proposed

YEIDA has also planned a 480-acre university township in Sector 14. The development is expected to strengthen higher education infrastructure and complement the healthcare ecosystem emerging around the airport region.

Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Cluster

A dedicated 100–125-acre Pharmaceutical Formulation Manufacturing Cluster will be developed in Sector 6. The proposed cluster will accommodate units manufacturing tablets, capsules, injectables, oral liquids, topical preparations and other finished dosage forms.

The facilities are expected to comply with national and international Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, helping attract pharmaceutical investments from both India and overseas.

Medical Device Testing Facility

To strengthen the medical-device ecosystem, YEIDA has approved a proposal for a medical device testing facility at the Medical Device Park. The facility is proposed in accordance with the US FDA’s Accreditation Scheme for Conformity Assessment.

A Technical Expert Committee will assess the technical, financial and institutional aspects of the project before further development.

Taiwan City to Attract Technology Investments

Around 300 acres in Sector 6 has been reserved for the proposed Taiwan City. The project is intended to attract Taiwan-based companies and investments in electronics, technology and manufacturing.

New Infrastructure Around Jewar Airport

YEIDA has also identified land for an interstate bus terminal in Sector 23C to improve connectivity between Noida International Airport, industrial areas and emerging urban centres.

Around 50 acres in Sector 23D has been identified for a proposed international stadium, while approximately 36 acres in Sector 34 will be developed for a modern agricultural mandi.

Emerging Healthcare and Industrial Destination

With projects spanning hospitals and healthcare, medical education, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, technology and transportation, YEIDA’s latest proposals could significantly reshape the Jewar-Noida Airport region.

The combination of a large medical hub, pharmaceutical manufacturing cluster and medical-device testing infrastructure is expected to create new investment and employment opportunities while strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s position as an emerging healthcare and life-sciences destination.
