The state-of-the-art system is designed to facilitate safe patient mobilisation directly from the bed helping improve clinical outcomes while reducing complications associated with prolonged immobilisation. The Total Lift Bed is an innovative intensive care solution that enables patients to be gradually transitioned from a lying to a standing position without leaving the bed. The technology supports early mobility protocols for critically ill patients including those requiring prolonged ICU stays or advanced life-support therapies. By allowing controlled mobilisation at an early stage of recovery the system aims to reduce muscle wasting, improve respiratory function minimise pressure injuries and accelerate rehabilitation.
The introduction of the technology complements Yashoda Medicity’s expanding portfolio of advanced critical care infrastructure. The 1,200-bed quaternary care hospital houses more than 250 modular ICU beds, advanced operating theatres and an AI-enabled E-ICU Command Centre that extends specialist intensive care support beyond the hospital to peripheral healthcare facilities through real-time digital monitoring.
Hospital officials said the Total Lift Bed technology will improve patient safety while reducing the physical burden on healthcare workers during patient handling and rehabilitation. The system enables clinicians to initiate physiotherapy and mobilisation earlier than conventional ICU care supporting multidisciplinary treatment protocols involving intensivists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists and nursing teams.
