Fresh images of former U.S. President Donald Trump have reignited online debate after a conspicuous light patch was spotted on his right hand during recent public appearances.

The discoloration, resembling smudged foundation makeup, was visible during Trump’s visit to The People’s House exhibit in Washington and again during Oval Office events. The photos quickly circulated on social media, fueling both cosmetic jokes and health concerns.

The White House dismissed the speculation, attributing the marks to bruising caused by Trump’s frequent handshakes. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, President Trump is a man of the people and he meets more Americans and shakes their hands on a daily basis than any other President in history. His commitment is unwavering and he proves that every single day.

However, medical experts say the explanation may be more complex. Behind the scenes, Trump has reportedly been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a condition that hampers blood flow back to the heart, often leading to swelling and bruising. His long-term aspirin regimen, used as a preventive measure for heart health, could also increase his tendency to bruise.

Doctors note that while vigorous handshaking may aggravate the issue, age-related factors such as thinning skin and fragile blood vessels are more likely to be the underlying cause.

The images, first surfacing on August 22, show Trump attempting to conceal his right hand by clasping it with his left during public remarks, further adding to the speculation.
