The Uttar Pradesh government, is set to launch a new five-year health policy focused on boosting private investment and expanding healthcare infrastructure across the state. The policy will prioritize quality, affordability, and access, aiming to bring modern medical services closer to both urban and rural populations.
Key features of the policy include:
- Model A: 200-bed super-specialty hospitals in 17 municipal corporations, including Lucknow and Noida.
- Model B: Similar hospitals in 57 district headquarters.
- Model C: 100-bed general hospitals in rural areas across all 75 districts.
These facilities will offer services in cardiology, oncology, neurology, maternity care, and more, and will integrate with schemes like Ayushman Bharat and CM Jan Arogya Yojana.
To attract private players, the policy offers:
- 100% stamp duty exemption,
- Subsidized land,
- Priority in power and water supply,
- Fast-track clearances.
A strong focus on local employment will link new hospitals with medical and nursing graduates and prioritize local hiring. The initiative aims to not only improve healthcare access but also generate skilled jobs and support the state’s goal of becoming a healthcare investment hub.
