The Uttar Pradesh government has directed an immediate statewide review of fire No Objection Certificates (NOCs) at all government and private medical colleges, medical institutions and district hospitals following the recent fire tragedy in Lucknow that claimed 15 lives.
Chairing a meeting of the State Transformation Commission, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed officials to verify the fire safety status of all such establishments and issue notices without delay to institutions whose fire NOCs have expired or are nearing expiry. He stressed that no compromise would be tolerated on public safety and directed authorities to ensure strict compliance with fire safety norms.
The chief minister also asked officials to strengthen monitoring and enforcement of fire safety regulations across the state to prevent similar incidents in the future. The review is part of a broader push to improve public safety and ensure timely compliance with statutory fire safety requirements.
