UP Governor Anandiben Patel directed officials to conduct raids on ultrasound centres to prevent female foeticide and address the gender ratio imbalance during her visit to Pilibhit. She stressed the need for awareness campaigns in rural areas, highlighting that foetal sex determination is a punishable offence.
The Governor also called for regular health camps for children and the promotion of homeopathy due to its affordability and minimal side effects. She instructed the CMO to ensure HPV vaccination for 900 students of Kasturba Kanya Vidyalayas, with the Red Cross Society covering the cost.
Emphasising the importance of education, Patel urged officials to boost school enrolment and reduce dropout rates, citing Gujarat’s success in literacy through the Pravesh Utsav initiative. She also reviewed wildlife conservation efforts at the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve.
