UP CM Yogi Adityanath arrived in Tokyo, Japan, on 25 February as part of a two-nation tour aimed at attracting investments and strengthening economic and strategic ties. He was received by Junichi Ishidera, Vice Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture, and welcomed by India’s Ambassador to Japan Nagma M. Mallick along with members of the Indian diaspora.
During his maiden visit to Japan, Adityanath held high-level meetings with senior executives from major Japanese companies, including Konoike Transport Co. Ltd., Mitsui & Co., Denso Corporation, and Suzuki/Minda, to promote investment opportunities in Uttar Pradesh. The discussions focused on expanding logistics parks, warehousing, multimodal transport infrastructure, medical devices manufacturing, automotive, electronics, and broader industrial cooperation.
The Uttar Pradesh government also signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) worth ₹11,000 crore with Japanese firms across sectors such as agriculture equipment, industrial machinery, electronics, and construction technology. In addition, the Chief Minister signed an MoU with Yamanashi Prefecture to collaborate on green hydrogen technology, including advanced training for UP students and deployment of clean energy solutions in the state.

Adityanath emphasized Uttar Pradesh’s vision of becoming a USD 1 trillion economy, highlighting the state’s industrial policy, infrastructure development, and special initiatives such as the Dedicated Freight Corridor network and the Medical Devices Park. Officials described the visit as highly productive, reinforcing Uttar Pradesh’s position as a global investment destination.
