UP Cabinet Approves ₹855 Crore Project for 1,010-bed Super-Speciality Hospital at RMLIMS Lucknow

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet on May 18 approved the construction of a 1,010-bed multi-speciality hospital and a new OPD block at the new campus of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow.

State Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said the government has sanctioned ₹855.04 crore for the major healthcare infrastructure project.

Under the proposal, a state-of-the-art multi-speciality emergency centre equipped with advanced medical facilities will be developed. A new OPD block will also be set up to accommodate the increasing number of patients and strengthen treatment services.

The project will further include a modern teaching block with a capacity of 200 seats, aimed at enhancing medical education and training facilities for students.

According to the statement, the upgraded infrastructure will help provide timely and specialised treatment to critically ill patients while improving access to better healthcare services for people arriving in Lucknow from various districts of Uttar Pradesh.
