In a significant development in the GTB Hospital shooting case, Delhi Police have arrested a third suspect. Detailed Recce Conducted

According to police reports, Moin, along with his associates Ayan, Aman, and Shavez, conducted a meticulous recce of the hospital. Surendra Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Shahdara district, stated, “He conducted the recce for four continuous days and collected details about the hospital’s entry and exit points.” This extensive surveillance was part of a carefully planned operation orchestrated by Faheem, a close associate of the notorious gangster Hashim Baba.

Role of Moin as Backup

The police have revealed that Moin was not just an observer but played a critical role in the execution of the plan. Faheem, who is considered the mastermind behind the operation, had kept Moin as a backup in case the original plan failed. DCP Choudhary elaborated, “Moin was specifically hired to provide backup to the shooter in case something goes wrong. He was also responsible for hiding the motorcycle used in the act.” This indicates the level of planning and foresight that went into the operation, highlighting the involvement of organized crime elements in the incident.

Previous Arrests and Their Roles

Prior to Moin’s arrest, the police had apprehended two other individuals linked to the case. Faiz, 20, from Loni, and Farhan, from the Chauhan Bangar area in Delhi, were arrested for providing logistical support for the shooting. Their arrests have provided crucial leads in the investigation, helping the police piece together the sequence of events leading up to the shooting.

Mistaken Identity and Motive

The shooting, which resulted in the death of Riyazuddin, 32, is suspected to have been a case of mistaken identity. Members of the Hashim Baba gang allegedly mistook Riyazuddin for a rival who was admitted to the same hospital. This error led to a tragic and fatal outcome. The police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact motive behind the shooting and to identify all individuals involved.

Investigation and Further Interrogations

With Moin’s arrest, the police are now focusing on interrogating him to uncover more details about the plan and the people involved. “We are questioning him further about the plan,” DCP Choudhary said. The police are also looking into Moin’s background and his connections with other criminal elements in the area. This investigation is crucial in understanding the broader network of the Hashim Baba gang and their operations.

Community Impact and Safety Measures

The incident has raised serious concerns about safety and security within hospital premises, which are supposed to be safe havens for patients and their families. The GTB Hospital shooting has highlighted the need for stricter security measures and better monitoring of visitors to prevent such incidents in the future. The police and hospital authorities are likely to implement new protocols to enhance security and prevent similar occurrences.

Public Response and Media Coverage

The GTB Hospital shooting has garnered significant media attention, with the public demanding swift justice for the victim and better safety measures in hospitals. The arrest of the suspects has been a crucial step in the investigation, and the police have assured the public that they are doing everything possible to bring all culprits to justice. The case continues to be closely followed by the media, with updates on the investigation and the legal proceedings expected in the coming days.

Legal Proceedings and Future Implications

As the investigation progresses, the arrested individuals will face legal proceedings. The police are likely to file detailed charges against Moin and his associates, which will be presented in court. The case has broader implications for how organized crime is tackled in the city and could lead to stricter measures and laws to curb such activities. The involvement of a notorious gang like Hashim Baba’s has underscored the challenges faced by law enforcement in dealing with organized crime and the need for coordinated efforts to dismantle such networks.

The third arrest in the GTB Hospital shooting case marks a significant milestone in the investigation. Moin’s role as a key conspirator and his meticulous recce work underline the complexity and planning involved in the crime. As the police continue their investigation, the focus will be on uncovering the full extent of the conspiracy and bringing all those involved to justice. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the need for enhanced security in public places and the ongoing battle against organized crime in the city.
