The Supreme Court will soon decide on a plea seeking a NEET‑UG 2025 re‑exam for candidates affected by power outages at some centres in Madhya Pradesh.

A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Joymala Bagchi agreed to hear the matter next week, after petitioners argued that counselling begins on July 21. The candidates had earlier moved the MP High Court, claiming power failures in Indore and Ujjain hampered their performance.

While a single judge had ordered a retest, a division bench later set aside that order, noting an expert panel’s view that natural light was sufficient to write the exam. The bench, however, directed the NTA and local authorities to ensure uninterrupted power, proper seating, and cooling arrangements in future exams.
