Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Sinha has assumed charge as the new Executive Director and CEO of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jammu, succeeding Prof. (Dr.) DN Sharma. Sinha has joined the institute on deputation from AIIMS New Delhi.
Brings Clinical and Academic Expertise
Sinha is a Professor in the Department of Medicine at AIIMS New Delhi and brings extensive experience in clinical care, medical education, training and research. His appointment is expected to add further academic and scientific strength to AIIMS Jammu.
Focus on Healthcare, Education and Research
Under his leadership, AIIMS Jammu is expected to focus on expanding and strengthening clinical services, improving the quality of medical education and promoting high-quality research and innovation. Greater emphasis will also be placed on interdisciplinary academic collaboration and research opportunities for faculty and students.
Strengthening Evidence-Based Healthcare
Sinha’s leadership is expected to promote a strong culture of evidence-based clinical practice, academic excellence and research-driven healthcare, further positioning AIIMS Jammu as a centre of excellence.
Three-Year Tenure Approved by ACC
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved Sinha’s appointment as Executive Director of AIIMS Jammu for three years from the date of assuming charge, or until he attains the age of 70 years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
DN Sharma’s Tenure Comes to an End
Sinha succeeds Prof. (Dr.) DN Sharma, whose tenure as Executive Director and CEO concluded with the leadership transition. Sharma had assumed charge of AIIMS Jammu on January 10, 2026, and served the institution during a key phase of its development.
