Samsung, in partnership with NeuroLogica, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., has launched its next-generation mobile CT scanner portfolio in India. Samsung, a global leader in medical imaging technology, aims to transform diagnostic and interventional radiology by combining mobility, AI-powered capabilities, and patient-centered design. These innovations are designed to make high-quality imaging accessible anywhere, empowering healthcare providers to deliver better care across hospitals of all sizes, including those in underserved areas.

The new product lineup features CereTom® Elite, OmniTom® Elite, OmniTom® Elite PCD, and BodyTom® 32/64, catering to a wide range of clinical needs for hospitals and specialty centers.

“At Samsung, our mission is to make advanced medical imaging more accessible, efficient, and patient-friendly,” said Atantra Das Gupta, Head of HME Business, Samsung India. “With this launch, we’re bridging the care gap between metropolitan hospitals and facilities in tier-2 and tier-3 cities. This portfolio will strengthen India’s healthcare infrastructure, enhance clinical expertise, and help improve patient outcomes at scale.”

Samsung’s mobile CT solutions represent a major leap in imaging technology by bringing scanners directly to patients whether in ICUs, operating rooms, emergency departments, oncology units, or pediatric wards. This approach minimizes patient movement, improves safety, speeds up diagnosis, and eliminates the need for costly infrastructure upgrades, helping hospitals expand capacity while maintaining quality care.

Smarter, Safer, and More Accessible Mobile CT Imaging

  • CereTom® Elite: An 8-slice CT scanner with a 32cm opening and 25cm field of view (FOV), powered by a 2-hour battery, ideal for efficient, portable imaging.
  • OmniTom® Elite: Offers ultra-high-resolution imaging with 0.125mm x 80-slice reconstruction, a 40cm opening, and 30cm FOV, with a 1.5-hour battery life. It has revolutionized neurosurgery workflows, enabling deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgeries in just 2 hours compared to the traditional 8-10 hours and supports immediate post-operative scans in the OR, reducing risks and revision surgeries.
  • OmniTom® Elite PCD: Features advanced photon-counting detector (PCD) technology for superior image quality, enhanced tissue differentiation, and reduced artifacts.
  • BodyTom® 32/64: A 32/64-slice full-body scanner with an 85cm opening and 60cm FOV, offering up to 12 hours of standby battery life for comprehensive imaging needs.

These systems are future-ready, offering AI-assisted imaging and seamless integration with hospital PACS and EMR systems to deliver faster, more accurate diagnoses while supporting India’s push for digital health transformation.

Expanding Clinical Applications

Samsung’s mobile CT portfolio is designed for a broad spectrum of medical specialties:

  • Neurosurgery: Intraoperative CT for surgical planning and real-time verification.
  • Emergency Care: Rapid trauma and stroke imaging.
  • Interventional Radiology: CT-guided biopsies, ablations, and drainage procedures.
  • Oncology: Imaging support for brachytherapy and tumor resection.
  • Pediatrics: Child- and neonate-friendly scanning solutions for safer care.

With this launch, Samsung aims to democratize access to advanced imaging, helping hospitals improve efficiency, enhance precision, and provide high-quality care regardless of location.
