The Rajasthan government has decided to set up dedicated well-being centres in all medical colleges across the state, along with the creation of a state-level mental health welfare cell for medical students, an official release said.
The announcement followed the first meeting of the state-level task force constituted to address mental health and well-being issues among medical students. Medical Education Commissioner Naresh Goyal issued the necessary directions during the meeting.
Under the initiative, every medical college will nominate a dean to specifically oversee and respond to students’ mental health needs. In addition, administrative and academic mechanisms will be reinforced to provide stronger psychological support and promote a healthier academic environment.
