Hyderabad-based Quality Care India Ltd (QCIL) has signed power purchase agreements with AMPIN Energy and Radiance Renewables under its Group Captive Solar Initiative. The agreements will enable the supply of solar energy to five hospitals located in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra, marking the first step in the company’s transition towards renewable energy.

This initiative is part of QCIL’s broader plan to shift 19 hospitals under Care Hospitals and KIMS Health to clean energy in a phased manner. Phase 1 focuses on Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra, while subsequent phases will expand to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, ensuring smooth operations during the transition.

The company aims to develop around 30 MW of renewable energy capacity across its network, with nearly 6 MWp planned in the first phase. In the long term, QCIL targets meeting close to 80% of its energy requirements through a combination of solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
