GHAZIABAD | President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday inaugurated Yashoda Medicity Hospital in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. She was accompanied by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the Deputy Chief Minister, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel and Cabinet Minister of Medical Education, Medical and Health, and Family Welfare of Uttar Pradesh Brajesh Pathak.

Yashoda Medicity Hospital has come up as a landmark infrastructure project aimed at significantly strengthening the healthcare sector in Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and neighbouring states of India. The project spans across 8 acres of land, Yashoda Medicity has 1,200 beds with a 252-bed modular ICU and 16 advanced operation theatres. The hospital brings together 65+ specialties and over 12 Centres of Excellence, offering integrated quaternary care supported by world-class medical technology and a multidisciplinary team of specialities and over 12 Centres of Excellence, offering integrated quaternary care supported by world-class medical technology and multidisciplinary team of specialists. According to company’s claim, it is the only facility in Southeast Asia to have state-of-the-art Radiation Technology for cancer treatment. Industry sources have estimated the investment in the project at Rs 430 Crores.

In her address, the President called for active participation of all stakeholders, including the private sector, to ensure that quality healthcare reaches every corner of the country. “No citizen should be deprived of effective medical services. Good private institutions can play a valuable role in achieving this goal,” she said. She said that by serving in the field of health, medical professionals are also serving the country. The President also noted that the hospital treated a large number of patients during the COVID-19 pandemic and has been providing care to many under the National TB eradication programme.

Chairman of Yashoda Medicity, Dr P N Arora, told media that the hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, experienced doctors, and well-trained staff. He said the facility will serve not only as a centre for advanced medical services but also as a symbol of patient-centred care and health awareness. Dr Arora added that the institution’s goal goes beyond treating illnesses — it also aims to promote health education and awareness within the community.
