The Uttar Pradesh government has assured that long-pending payments under the Ayushman Bharat scheme will be cleared at the earliest following the completion of a data migration exercise.
According to a report, the assurance was given during a meeting of the Governing Body of the State Health Society held in Lucknow on Tuesday (Feb17). The meeting was chaired by Dr Ravish Agrawal, in the presence of senior health officials.
Key points from the meeting include:
- Officials informed that in the future, every district will have government hospitals equipped with MRI facilities, while cancer treatment services will be expanded at the district hospital and CHC level.
- Chemotherapy facilities will also be made available in selected private hospitals under government schemes.
- The issue of pending payments to private hospitals, particularly the first instalment under Ayushman Bharat, was discussed in detail.
- Health officials said data related to Ayushman Bharat is currently being shifted to a new portal, after which the pending payments will be released.
The Mission Director assured that all outstanding claims would be resolved quickly once the data shift is completed. Several senior doctors and officials participated in the meeting and were briefed on the timelines for payment clearance.
The move is expected to provide relief to empanelled private hospitals that have been awaiting reimbursements and help smoothen service delivery under the flagship health insurance scheme.
