Paras Health has named Balkishan Sharma as its new Chief Human Resources and Business Transformation Officer, signalling a senior-level leadership move as the hospital chain sharpens its operational and expansion strategy.
Sharma shared on LinkedIn that he joined Paras Health in February 2026. He moves from Max Healthcare Institute Ltd., where he spent nearly seven years, most recently serving as Senior Vice President and Head – HR Operations. In that role, he led human resources across eight hospitals with a combined capacity of about 2,100 beds, annual revenues of roughly ₹3,000 crore and a workforce of around 10,000 employees. His responsibilities included business strategy alignment, change management, talent development, compensation, employee relations and organisational culture.
Headquartered in Gurugram, Paras Health operates a multi-city hospital network across North and East India. The group has recently taken part in industry discussions on digital transformation and healthcare infrastructure, including the CII Northern Region Healthcare Excellence Conclave, where its leadership emphasised trust, outcomes and effective implementation in care delivery.
Sharma brings over 18 years of experience in hospital HR leadership. Prior to Max Healthcare, he held senior HR positions at BLK Super Speciality Hospital and Fortis Healthcare, overseeing workforce planning and talent management across multi-speciality facilities in cities such as Delhi and Jaipur. He holds an MBA in Human Resources from Madurai Kamaraj University and has completed an executive leadership programme at Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
In his public note, Sharma said he was pleased to begin his new role at Paras Health. The combined HR and business transformation portfolio indicates a broader operational mandate at a time when hospital networks are balancing expansion, cost efficiency and clinical quality.
Across India’s healthcare sector, providers are strengthening HR and transformation functions as they expand capacity, invest in digital systems and compete for specialised talent. Sharma’s appointment places an experienced hospital HR leader at the forefront of Paras Health’s next phase of growth, with industry observers likely to watch how the expanded mandate supports execution across its network.
