In a major boost for postgraduate medical aspirants, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved 2,337 new PG medical seats for the upcoming NEET PG 2025 counselling.
The revised NEET PG seat matrix has been published by the Gujarat Admission Committee for Professional Post Graduate Medical Courses (ACPPGMEC) on its official website.
Among all states, Karnataka received the highest allocation with 422 new seats, followed by Gujarat (247) and Uttar Pradesh (233).
Other states that witnessed an increase include Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh (119), Arunachal Pradesh (22), Assam (28), Bihar (47), Chhattisgarh (61), Dadra & Nagar Haveli (18), and Delhi (43).
Additional seat approvals include Haryana (11), Himachal Pradesh (32), Jammu & Kashmir (118), Jharkhand (16), Kerala (81), Madhya Pradesh (115), and Maharashtra (183).
Further, Manipur (2), Mizoram (10), Odisha (62), Puducherry (16), Punjab (55), Rajasthan (112), Tamil Nadu (73), Telangana (102), Tripura (4), Uttarakhand (58), and West Bengal (34) have also gained new PG medical seats.
Meanwhile, following a gap of over two months since the NEET PG 2025 exam, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has begun the All India Quota (AIQ) counselling registration. However, the committee is yet to release the detailed schedule for all four rounds of counselling.
