NITI Aayog has initiated a comprehensive effort to reduce compliance burdens for healthcare facilities across India. The Central government is developing an integrated online portal to strengthen India’s role as a leading global healthcare destination, announced Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush and Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare. Speaking at FICCI’s Medical Value Travel (MVT) conference, he stated that the initiative aims to improve the complete patient journey covering treatment, travel planning, and post-treatment care to provide a seamless and enhanced experience for international patients.
Recognizing that excessive regulatory requirements can hinder the establishment and operation of hospitals, especially in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, the policy think tank is actively seeking feedback from healthcare industry stakeholders to streamline processes and promote ease of doing business in the sector.
Dr. Vinod K. Paul, Member (Health) of NITI Aayog, emphasized the importance of deregulation during a recent address at the FICCI Medical Value Travel conference. He urged industry players to provide suggestions on how to reduce compliance burdens for healthcare facilities.
This initiative aligns with the government’s broader strategy to enhance healthcare accessibility and affordability, particularly in underserved regions. By involving stakeholders in the reform process, NITI Aayog aims to develop a regulatory framework that balances necessary oversight with operational flexibility, ultimately fostering a more conducive environment for healthcare delivery across the country.

Interesting perspective—thanks for making me think.
