The National Health Authority (NHA) has launched a new digital academy to strengthen the adoption of digital health systems and accelerate the integration of electronic medical records (EMRs) and hospital information systems (HIS) across India.
The initiative, a first for the NHA, will focus on building the capacity of healthcare professionals and administrators to implement Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) standards.
Under the programme, district magistrates have been directed to support specialised training for government hospital administrators and medical officers. The training will focus on digital health tools, ABDM standards and compliance requirements.
The NHA has partnered with the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) and the Centre for Health, Applied Knowledge and Research Autonomy (CHAKRA) to deliver the programme.
Two paid certified courses are scheduled for October, covering digital health toolkits and compliance standards. Government hospitals will receive support for training, while private hospitals will bear the cost of participation.
The move is aimed at creating a stronger digital health workforce and improving the nationwide implementation of ABDM-compliant EMR and HIS systems.
