A new venture by Yatharth Hospitals in Agra is expected to significantly transform access to advanced healthcare in western Uttar Pradesh, with the newly inaugurated super speciality hospital set to serve as a major medical hub for several surrounding districts.

Spread across nearly 1,65,000 square feet with an operational capacity of around 150 beds expandable to nearly 250 beds, the facility offers multiple super speciality services and advanced diagnostics aimed at addressing the growing demand for tertiary care in the region.

Healthcare experts say the hospital will benefit patients not only from Agra but also from nearby districts such as Mathura, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etah and parts of Rajasthan, where access to corporate super speciality hospitals has remained limited. For many patients, specialised procedures such as cardiac surgery, oncology treatment and complex neurological interventions previously required travel to Delhi-NCR, often increasing treatment costs and delaying care.

The hospital’s strategic location and connectivity through the Yamuna Expressway and Delhi-Agra highway are also expected to make it an important referral centre within the region. According to the hospital group, the facility could serve as a feeder centre for highly specialised treatments such as oncology and organ transplants offered at its larger hospitals in the NCR.

Commenting on the expansion, Yatharth Tyagi, Director of Yatharth Hospitals, said the Agra hospital marks a significant step in the group’s growth strategy in northern India.

“This strategic expansion strengthens our footprint in Uttar Pradesh and enhances our position as an integrated healthcare leader in North India. By establishing the first corporate hospital in the city of Taj, we aim to serve a large population whose need for advanced super speciality care has remained underserved,” he said.

Industry analysts believe the Agra facility could be a major growth driver for the group, which already operates multiple hospitals across Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad and Jhansi. With the addition of the Agra centre, the network now includes eight hospitals with a combined capacity of more than 2,500 beds, significantly expanding the group’s reach across north India.

The integration of the Agra hospital is also expected to contribute to the company’s revenue and profitability from the first year of operations as the group works to increase occupancy and improve operational efficiency at the facility.

With increasing demand for specialised healthcare in tier-2 cities, the Agra hospital is being viewed as a crucial step in decentralising advanced medical services while strengthening Yatharth Hospitals’ presence beyond the National Capital Region.
