Bengaluru-headquartered Narayana Health has announced the acquisition of Practice Plus Group Hospitals, one of the UK’s largest private healthcare providers. The deal, for an undisclosed amount, gives Narayana Health ownership of 12 hospitals and surgical centres across the UK, specialising in orthopaedics, ophthalmology, and general surgery.

Practice Plus Group is the fifth-largest private hospital network in the UK, performing nearly 80,000 surgeries annually. This acquisition marks Narayana Health’s strategic entry into the UK healthcare market, where the demand for surgeries particularly in the private sector is expected to rise substantially in the coming years.

“The acquisition of Practice Plus Group hospitals and surgical centres is an incredibly exciting milestone for Narayana Health. Like us, Practice Plus Group recognised the gap between public and expensive private healthcare and worked to make quality treatment accessible to more people. Together, we share a mission to offer affordable, high-quality healthcare. I look forward to welcoming the Practice Plus Group team into the Narayana family and helping many more patients receive the care they deserve,” said Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Founder and Chairman of Narayana Health.

By integrating Practice Plus Group into its ecosystem, Narayana Health aims to leverage its strong technology foundation to enhance efficiency, drive innovation, and create long-term value for patients and stakeholders alike.

“Dr. Shetty and Narayana Health have an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality, compassionate, and efficient care. I am excited about what our hospitals and surgical centres can achieve with their expertise and commitment supporting us,” said Jim Easton, Chief Executive of Practice Plus Group.

As one of India’s premier private healthcare providers, Narayana Health operates a broad network of primary, secondary, and tertiary care facilities across India and the Caribbean. Backed by a workforce of 18,822 professionals, including 3,868 doctors and specialists, the group continues to set benchmarks in clinical excellence and patient-centric care.

Its subsidiaries include Narayana One Health (NH Integrated Care) and Narayana Health Insurance, both designed to offer comprehensive and integrated healthcare solutions.
