The MedTech Quality and Communications Institute (MQCI), an initiative of the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ), Visakhapatnam, has certified 100 Lead Auditors for the medical technology sector in collaboration with certified bodies.
The initiative focuses on strengthening the pool of professionals equipped to audit quality management systems and assess regulatory compliance in medical device manufacturing.
As India’s MedTech industry expands its participation in global markets, the need for professionals with specialised expertise in regulatory requirements, quality systems and compliance assessment is also increasing.
MQCI’s Lead Auditor programme is aimed at developing this expertise by training professionals to evaluate quality systems, identify compliance gaps and support continual improvement in manufacturing processes.
Dr Jitendra Sharma, Non-Executive President of MQCI, highlighted the growing importance of regulatory knowledge and quality expertise as Indian MedTech companies increase their global presence.
Prof Bejon Kumar Misra, Chairman of MQCI, said maintaining quality in medical devices is closely linked to patient safety and consumer trust.
