Meenakshi Super Speciality Hospital in Madurai has been awarded the prestigious LEED Platinum Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) becoming the first healthcare institution in India to attain this global benchmark for energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
LEED short for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design is an internationally recognized framework for green building design and operations developed by the USGBC. It evaluates buildings based on sustainability performance, offering four certification levels: Certified (40–49 points), Silver (50–59 points), Gold (60–79 points), and Platinum (80+ points). The Platinum status represents the highest standard of eco-friendly construction and operational excellence.
