The Max Healthcare Foundation has expanded the annual intake of its flagship Max Medical Scholarship Programme to up to 250 new MBBS students significantly increasing the programme’s reach compared with the 100 students supported in previous years. The initiative is aimed at helping meritorious students pursue medical education without the burden of financial constraints.
Under the expanded programme, up to 250 students who have qualified NEET and secured admission to MBBS programmes in government medical colleges for the 2026–27 academic year will receive financial support. The eligible locations include Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Nagpur, Lucknow, Mohali, Dehradun, Bathinda and Bhubaneswar. The scholarship will provide financial assistance for the full five-year MBBS course allowing selected students to continue their medical education with financial support throughout their undergraduate studies.
According to information released about the programme the scholarship covers tuition fees as well as essential academic requirements including textbooks, a laptop and medical equipment such as a bone set, dissection kit and stethoscope. Selected students will also receive monthly financial assistance and academic guidance. Registrations for the 2026 edition opened on September 16, 2026 with applications scheduled to remain open until October 4, 2026. The expansion follows three years of the Max Medical Scholarship Programme during which 245 students have received support for their medical education. The Foundation is now increasing the annual intake to 250 new students more than doubling the number of fresh beneficiaries compared with earlier editions.
The programme will also continue supporting students selected in earlier years who are currently in their second, third and fourth years of medical education ensuring continuity of assistance through their courses. Taruna Soi, Chairperson, Max Healthcare Foundation said the expansion is intended to enable more deserving students to pursue their ambition of becoming doctors without financial constraints. The Foundation describes education as one of its key CSR focus areas, alongside skill development and community health initiatives. Its broader CSR approach focuses on supporting communities around its hospitals and improving access to healthcare and social opportunities.
