Max Healthcare has expanded its international presence in Africa with the opening of a new Patient Assistance Centre (PAC) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, its fourth centre on the continent.
The new facility is intended to support patients and families in Tanzania and across East Africa seeking advanced tertiary and quaternary healthcare services in India.
The Dar es Salaam centre will provide patients with information on treatment options, access to Max Healthcare hospitals and specialists, video consultations and assistance with treatment cost estimates. It will also support patients with visa and travel arrangements and interpreter services.
Max Healthcare already operates international centres in Nairobi, Addis Ababa and Lagos. With the addition of Tanzania, the healthcare provider now has 11 international offices and patient assistance centres across Asia and Africa.
Anas Abdul Wajid, Group Director and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Max Healthcare, said Tanzania represents an important market for the organisation and that the company aims to strengthen relationships with patients, doctors and healthcare institutions in the region.
Max Healthcare said it currently receives more than 45,000 international patients annually from over 180 nationalities.
