KIMS has agreed to acquire a 6% equity stake in Ushahkal Abhinav Speciality Hospital LLP in Sangli, Maharashtra, for ₹15 crore, transitioning from an operations and management (O&M) arrangement to partial ownership of the healthcare facility.
The transaction is expected to be completed by October 31, 2026, according to the details provided.
KIMS entered into an O&M agreement with the hospital on February 17, 2025, under which it was appointed to operate the 316-bed facility exclusively for an initial period of seven years in exchange for 9% of its net revenue.
The proposed equity investment will give KIMS a direct ownership interest in the hospital, linking its financial participation to the facility’s future performance and growth.
Hospital Has Capacity to Expand to 500 Beds
Located on a four-acre campus in Sangli, Ushahkal Abhinav Speciality Hospital operates as a quaternary care facility with 316 beds. The hospital has the potential to expand its capacity to 500 beds.
The investment will strengthen KIMS’ financial involvement in a facility where it already manages operations, while supporting its presence in Maharashtra and the wider western Indian healthcare market.
KIMS Continues Expansion Through Acquisitions and Partnerships
The Sangli investment follows other expansion initiatives by KIMS. On October 6, 2026, the company approved the acquisition of up to a 51% stake in Insignia Healthcare, which operates a 150-bed hospital under the KIMS-SIKHARA brand in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.
Earlier, on September 10, 2026, KIMS entered into a five-year O&M agreement with Sarvottam Health Care to operate a hospital in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.
The proposed acquisition of the 6% stake in Ushahkal Abhinav Speciality Hospital represents another step in KIMS’ expansion strategy, combining hospital management agreements with selective equity investments.
