JP Nadda Unveils Nationwide Seva Sankalp Abhiyan From Sept 17

Union Health Minister J P Nadda has announced a month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan beginning September 17, with activities including medical and blood donation camps, cleanliness drives and outreach to beneficiaries of government schemes.

The campaign, being organised around Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, will focus on service, welfare and grassroots engagement, Nadda said at a press conference.

Nadda also announced a Vadnagar-Varanasi Seva Yatra, linking Modi’s birthplace Vadnagar with his parliamentary constituency Varanasi. Water collected from rivers across the country will be taken for rituals at the Hatkeshwar Temple in Vadnagar and Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi.

Highlighting the government’s health initiatives, Nadda said the health budget had increased from Rs 35,000 crore in 2014 to Rs 1,06,530 crore currently. He also cited the expansion of medical colleges, Ayushman Bharat coverage, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and HPV vaccination among girls.

The minister said the campaign would also mark October 7, 2026, as 25 years since Modi became Gujarat chief minister.
