India’s active Covid-19 cases declined slightly to 6,483 on June 18, down from 6,836 a day earlier, as per the latest update from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
In the last 24 hours, four fatalities were reported two in Maharashtra, and one each in Kerala and Delhi. All deceased individuals were elderly and suffered from pre-existing respiratory and chronic health conditions.
The country is currently experiencing a rise in infections attributed to emerging subvariants such as LF.7, XFG, JN.1, and the newly identified NB.1.8.1.
