India MedTech Expo 2025 to Highlight Nation’s Growing Role in Medical Tourism

The India MedTech Expo 2025 has commenced on  September 4,  2025, at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi  and will continue till September 6, 2025 as a part of the wider Bharat Health 2025 initiative. The three-day event will showcase India’s advancements in medical technology and its emergence as a global hub for medical tourism.

This year’s theme, “India: Global MedTech Manufacturing Hub, Precision Engineering yet Affordable,” underlines the country’s capability to deliver cutting-edge technology at accessible costs. Organized by the Department of Pharmaceuticals with support from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Commerce & Industry, CDSCO and other agencies, the expo is expected to attract 350 exhibitors and over 150 international delegates from more than 30 nations.

The exhibition will feature start-ups, MSMEs, R&D institutions, innovation pavilions and government-led healthcare initiatives. A packed agenda includes CEO roundtables, B2B networking, buyer-seller meets, fireside chats and open houses with regulators—creating opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange across the MedTech ecosystem. Dignitaries such as Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitin Prasada along with senior officials like Amit Agrawal (Secretary ,Department of Pharmaceuticals)  and Dr. Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi , Drugs Controller General of India(DCGI) are expected to inaugurate the event.

Industry leaders note that India’s MedTech sector, currently valued at around USD 15 billion is projected to double to USD 30 billion by 2030, supported by innovation, R&D and government incentives like the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. According to Praveen Kumar Mittal, Executive Director, Export Promotion Council for Medical Devices (EPCMD) the expo will be a key platform to position India as a trusted supplier of affordable and innovative medical technology to the world.

With strong global participation, the expo is also set to strengthen India’s medical tourism appeal reinforcing its reputation as a destination offering high-quality healthcare solutions at competitive prices.
