India has donated six ambulances fitted with modern medical equipment to Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health, the ministry said in a statement. Officials noted that the vehicles will be deployed for the rapid transport of patients and delivery of emergency medical services in different parts of the country.
The ministry said concerned departments believe the new ambulances will significantly improve access to emergency care and ease difficulties in patient transportation, at a time when many health facilities are under severe strain.
Expressing appreciation for India’s support, the Ministry of Public Health described the donation as a reflection of continued health-sector cooperation between the two nations, adding that such assistance would help strengthen public health services and address the pressing medical needs of the Afghan people.
