Senior office bearers of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Uttar Pradesh were present during the interaction, including State President Dr. Rajeev Goyal, President-Elect Dr. Ravish Agarwal, IMA UP State Zone-3 Vice President Dr. V.K. Tripathi, Lucknow President Dr. Manoj Asthana, Secretary Dr. Shweta Srivastava, and Coordination Secretary Dr. Archika Gupta.
Responding to questions raised by the media regarding the alleged kidney transplant racket at Ahuja Hospital in Kanpur, Dr. Rajeev Goyal said the association is aware of the preliminary action being taken by the administration.
The alleged racket is suspected to involve irregularities in kidney transplants, including possible violations of legal protocols, donor-recipient verification norms, and concerns over commercial dealings in organ donation.
He added that IMA UP has constituted an internal inquiry committee to probe the matter. “If the allegations are found to be true in the investigation report, the membership of those involved will be cancelled,” he said.
