The IMA HQs College of General Practitioners (CGP) South Zone Conference 2026 was successfully organised by the IMA Kozhikode Branch in Kozhikode, Kerala on July 19, bringing together family physicians, healthcare experts, and senior leaders of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) for a day of academic learning and professional development.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr. R. Ramesh, National Vice President, IMA HQs, who attended as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Piyush Jain, Honorary Finance Secretary, IMA HQs, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
The event was attended by several distinguished IMA leaders, including Dr. Shabha Ahuja, Dean, IMA CGP; Dr. Amutha Karunakaran, Secretary, IMA CGP; Dr. Marthandan Pillai, Past National President, IMA; Dr. M. N. Menon, State President, IMA Kerala; Dr. Roy R. Chandran, State Secretary, IMA Kerala; and Dr. Gopikumar, President-Elect, IMA Kerala State, along with other senior office bearers.
The conference centred on enhancing the knowledge, clinical skills, and professional competencies of family physicians to address the evolving healthcare needs of communities. Scientific sessions featured practical, evidence-based discussions on day-to-day clinical challenges, encouraging active participation, interactive learning, and the exchange of best practices among delegates.
The organisers received widespread appreciation for successfully conducting the academic event.
