IMA Bareilly Successfully Organised Voluntary Blood Donation and Stem Cell Donor Registration Camp on World Blood Donor Day

On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, the Indian Medical Association, Bareilly successfully organised a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp and Stem Cell Donor Registration Camp at the IMA Building. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about blood donation and stem cell donation and encourage greater public participation in this life-saving humanitarian cause.

The programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. Arun Kumar, Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of Uttar Pradesh. Dr. I.S. Tomar, Former Mayor of Bareilly, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.

The event witnessed the esteemed presence and active participation of Dr. Anshu Agrawal, Honorary Secretary, IMA Bareilly; Dr. D.P. Gangwar, President-Elect; Dr. Pramendra Maheshwari, Chairman, Community Services; Dr. Anju Uppal, Director, IMA RSG Blood Centre; Dr. J.P. Sethi; Dr. Parul Priya; Dr. J. Bharat, CMO, ITBP; Mr. Rajeev Singhal, President, IIA Bareilly Chapter; along with the ITBP team. The dignitaries highlighted the importance of blood donation and stem cell donation and appealed to people from all sections of society to actively participate in this noble cause.

A total of 194 voluntary blood donors donated blood during the camp, setting an inspiring example of service to humanity. Doctors, social workers and citizens enthusiastically participated in the initiative.

A Stem Cell Donor Registration Camp was also organised alongside the blood donation drive, with active support from the Dharti Team and the expert team from Sharda Care Health City. The experts educated participants about the stem cell donation process, its significance, and its potential to offer a new lease of life to patients battling serious illnesses. Several individuals also came forward to register themselves as stem cell donors.

At the conclusion of the programme, IMA Bareilly expressed its heartfelt gratitude to all blood donors, stem cell donors, guests, members of the medical fraternity, the ITBP team, the Dharti Team, Sharda Care Health City, and all collaborating organisations for their invaluable support. The association also reaffirmed its commitment to organising more such public welfare and humanitarian initiatives in the future.
