Haryana Government issues show cause notice to the Hospitals over suspension of Ayushman Services, IMA Haryana said they did this because of unpaid dues of nearly ₹500 crore. The association has also called for a complete streamlining of procedures, particularly the new portal introduced in February 2024, which they allege has added more complications instead of easing processes. Hospitals have raised concerns over poor communication with authorities, arbitrary deductions, and rejection of claims even after patients have been discharged.

IMA further accused the state government of adopting an “ostrich-like” attitude and using pressure tactics against private hospitals that suspended Ayushman Bharat–Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) services.

In a statement, the association said the government, which earlier claimed that the withdrawal of services had no impact, is now serving show-cause notices to hospitals for denying admission to Ayushman patients.

The IMA Haryana Branch had already informed the authorities about the decision to suspend Ayushman services from August 7 to 15. Despite meetings between government officials and IMA representatives, as well as public statements on the matter, hospitals are now being questioned about non-admissions. This is nothing but a pressure tactic and misuse of government machinery to cover up their incompetence, the association said.

The IMA reiterated that hospitals withdrew services because the state failed to honour commitments made in the MoU with Ayushman-empanelled hospitals. It pointed out that payments, which were supposed to be cleared within 15 days, have often been delayed by 3-4 months, and in some cases, up to three years. Despite repeated reminders, no effective solutions have been provided, it added.

The IMA headquarters has extended support to the Haryana hospitals, urging the government to clear pending dues, allocate sufficient funds, and address long-standing concerns to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services under the scheme.
