In a shocking incident at Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital, Rohini, a second-year female DNB resident from the gynaecology department was brutally assaulted by a patient’s attendants in broad daylight inside the ward. The assailants allegedly tore her clothes, strangled her with her stethoscope, and left her with scratches, while no security personnel intervened.
The Resident Doctors’ Association (RDA) reported that the attack occurred around 2 PM, and only fellow residents and nurses stepped in to stop it. The RDA has demanded an institutional FIR, termination of the security guards on duty, and an urgent meeting with the Medical Director. They warned of mass suspension of duties if swift action isn’t taken.
Dr. Dhruv Chauhan, IMA JDN National Spokesperson, condemned the lack of response, tagging Delhi’s leadership on social media and demanding accountability. The incident has sparked outrage among doctors and netizens, raising concerns over safety and law enforcement in hospitals.
