Fortis Healthcare is strengthening its footprint across North and South India by focusing on acquisitions, brownfield expansion, and hospital management partnerships. The company aims to build strong regional healthcare clusters while expanding advanced specialty services.

Managing Director and CEO Dr Ashutosh Raghuvanshi said the company will continue exploring inorganic growth opportunities alongside expanding capacity in existing hospitals.

During FY26, Fortis made several strategic moves to enhance its network in key markets. The company acquired the 125-bed People Tree Hospital in Bengaluru, with plans to increase its capacity to over 300 beds in the future. It also purchased the 228-bed Shrimann Hospital, strengthening its presence in Punjab to nearly 1,000 beds.

In the NCR region, Fortis signed a long-term lease for a nearly 200-bed hospital in Greater Noida, which can later be expanded to around 250 beds. The company also entered into an operations and management agreement for a proposed 550-bed greenfield hospital in Lucknow. Additionally, Fortis partnered with Gleneagles Hospitals to manage nearly 700 beds across five hospitals.

Industry experts believe large hospital chains are increasingly preferring cluster-based expansion strategies, helping improve doctor utilisation, referral systems, and specialty integration across nearby hospitals.

Fortis is also diversifying beyond traditional hospital services. During FY26, it launched Adayu, a dedicated mental healthcare centre, reflecting growing demand for organised mental health services.

The company’s major specialties cardiac sciences, orthopaedics, neurology, gastroenterology, oncology, and renal sciences contributed around 62% of hospital revenues in FY26. Renal sciences and orthopaedics recorded strong growth of 22% and 21%, respectively. Fortis also witnessed a 66% jump in robotic surgeries and a 19% rise in radiation therapy procedures.

To support future growth, the company added advanced medical infrastructure, including five soft tissue surgical robots, four cath labs, two MRI machines, and one PET-CT system during the year.

International patient services also emerged as a strong growth area, with overseas patient revenue increasing 18.5% to Rs 639 crore in FY26, contributing 7.8% of total hospital revenue.

Alongside hospital expansion, Fortis is strengthening its diagnostics business through Agilus Diagnostics. The diagnostics network expanded to 4,445 customer touchpoints during the year, while preventive healthcare revenue grew 21% and contributed 13% to diagnostics revenue.

Fortis reported consolidated revenue of Rs 9,128 crore in FY26, marking a 17.3% increase, while operating EBITDA rose 31.3% to Rs 2,085 crore.
