Fortis Healthcare will be investing more than ₹900 crore to further expand its Mohali campus, Punjab Industry Minister Sanjeev Arora announced on September 19.
As part of the project, the hospital will add over 400 beds, transforming the facility into a world-class centre of excellence, according to an official statement. The upgraded campus will cover more than 13.4 acres.
The expansion is expected to create over 2,500 direct jobs and another 2,200 indirect employment opportunities, strengthening Punjab’s position as a hub for advanced healthcare and medical tourism.
Highlighting the government’s focus on strengthening public-private partnerships in healthcare, Arora welcomed Fortis Healthcare’s continued investment in Punjab. He said the state is steadily emerging as a centre of medical excellence.
So far, Fortis has invested more than ₹1,500 crore in Punjab, building a robust network of hospitals. At present, its Mohali facility operates 375 beds including 194 ICU beds across 40 specialities, and is recognized as a regional leader in cardiac sciences, oncology, organ transplantation, robotic surgery, and critical care.
