Fortis Healthcare Limited has announced the acquisition of People Tree Hospital in Yeshwanthpur, Bengaluru, as part of its cluster-led growth strategy in the city. The 125-bed hospital has been acquired at a total transaction value of ₹430 crore, while the overall investment, including planned expansion, is expected to reach approximately ₹840 crore.

The deal involves Fortis purchasing 100 per cent equity in TMI Healthcare Private Limited, which operates People Tree Hospital Yeshwanthpur, through its wholly owned subsidiary, International Hospital Limited. As part of the composite transaction, Fortis will also acquire the hospital building, the underlying land and an adjoining land parcel, with the consideration inclusive of existing debt.

Located in north-west Bengaluru, People Tree Hospital is a NABH-accredited multi-specialty facility offering services across cardiac sciences, orthopaedics, neurosciences, renal sciences and gastroenterology. The hospital currently operates 125 beds and reported revenues of about ₹74 crore in FY25.

The acquisition includes an additional 0.8-acre land parcel, enabling expansion of the facility to more than 300 beds. Fortis plans to invest a further ₹410 crore over the next three years to increase bed capacity, upgrade medical equipment and introduce new clinical programmes, including radiation oncology.

The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of January 2026, subject to the fulfilment of customary regulatory and closing conditions.

With this acquisition, Fortis aims to strengthen its presence in Bengaluru, where it currently operates seven facilities, including operations and management hospitals. The company plans to scale its bed capacity in the city from around 900 beds to over 1,500 beds over the next three years.

Fortis Healthcare operates 33 healthcare facilities across 11 states, with a network of nearly 5,800 operational beds, including O&M beds, and more than 400 diagnostic laboratories.
