NATHEALTH has appointed Dr Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals, as its President for the financial year 2026–27. She succeeds Ameera Shah of Metropolis Healthcare. The announcement was made during the Annual General Meeting following the 12th Arogya Bharat Annual Summit 2026.

The new leadership team includes Himanshu Baid, Managing Director of Poly Medicure Ltd., as Senior Vice President, and Varun Khanna, Group MD of Quality Care India Ltd., as Vice President. More appointments are expected soon.

Dr Reddy highlighted the need to move India’s healthcare system toward prevention-driven, patient-centric care. She stressed strengthening primary healthcare, widening insurance coverage, and promoting preventive practices to reduce non-communicable diseases. She also pointed to the growing role of digital health and data-driven systems in improving access and continuity of care, especially in underserved regions.

Himanshu Baid said India has strong potential to become a global hub for medtech innovation and medical device manufacturing, calling for greater investment in R&D, supportive policies, and collaboration between industry, academia, and government.

Varun Khanna emphasised that integrating quality, affordability, and efficiency will define the next phase of healthcare in India. He highlighted the need for better infrastructure, standardised clinical protocols, and technology adoption to improve patient outcomes.

The leadership transition comes as healthcare remains a key focus in the Union Budget for FY 2026-27, alongside policy emphasis by Narendra Modi on strengthening India’s healthcare system. NATHEALTH will continue to act as a collaborative platform linking government, industry, and other stakeholders through initiatives such as public–private partnerships.
