LUCKNOW/BAREILLY | Dr. Ravish Agarwal from Bareilly has been elected unopposed as the President of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Uttar Pradesh State Branch for the term 2026–2027. This marks a special moment for Bareilly, as the position of State President returns to a local doctor after 13 years the last being Dr. Ravi Mehra, who held the post in 2013–14.
The results of the first phase of the IMA Uttar Pradesh Presidential Elections 2025 were officially announced by the Election Officer Dr. S.P.S. Chauhan. Dr. Ravish Agarwal has a distinguished record of service within the association, having earlier served as President of the IMA Bareilly Branch (2015–2016) and as Vice President of the IMA Uttar Pradesh State Branch. He is presently the Editor of the IMA UP Journal. During his tenure as IMA Bareilly President, Dr. Ravish Agarwal was known for his dynamic leadership and emphasis on scientific, academic, and socio-cultural initiatives. He was also popularly known as the “Showman of IMA Bareilly”.
Election Officer Dr. Chauhan further informed that on the occasion of Diwali, all office bearers of the IMA Uttar Pradesh State Branch were declared elected unopposed at the state office in Kavi Nagar. He also announced that Dr. Ravi Mehra from Bareilly and Dr. P.K. Agarwal (current President) from Shahjahanpur have been inducted as members of the Central Working Committee.
Following the announcement, members and office bearers of IMA Bareilly Branch, along with representatives from various medical and social organizations, extended warm congratulations and best wishes to Dr. Agarwal on his election and to Dr. Agarwal on his election.
