Fortis Healthcare Ltd has approved the reappointment of Dr. Ashutosh Raghuvanshi as its Managing Director (designated as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer) for a further term of two years, reinforcing the company’s leadership continuity as it pursues its long-term growth strategy. The decision was taken at the company’s Board meeting held on July 8, 2026.
Dr. Raghuvanshi’s new term will commence on March 19, 2027 immediately after the expiry of his current tenure on March 18, 2027. The reappointment is subject to the approval of shareholders at the appropriate time as required under applicable regulations.
In a regulatory filing, Fortis Healthcare stated that the Board considered Dr. Raghuvanshi’s extensive expertise and his significant contribution to steering the company’s growth while recommending his reappointment. Under his leadership, the hospital chain has strengthened its operational performance, expanded its healthcare network and enhanced its focus on quality clinical outcomes and patient care.
Dr. Raghuvanshi, a cardiac surgeon turned healthcare executive, has over three decades of experience in clinical practice and hospital management. Before joining Fortis Healthcare, he held senior leadership positions at major healthcare organisations including Narayana Health and has played an active role in shaping India’s private healthcare sector through various industry bodies.
The Board’s decision reflects confidence in his leadership as Fortis Healthcare continues to pursue expansion, strengthen its clinical capabilities and accelerate digital transformation across its network of hospitals. Subject to shareholder approval his extended tenure is expected to provide continuity in the company’s strategic initiatives and long-term value creation.
