In the aftermath of the tragic Air India crash, grieving families arrived at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital on Friday to submit blood samples for DNA matching. A temporary DNA collection center has been set up at the hospital to assist authorities in identifying the victims, some of whom were severely burned in the accident.
Officials stated that due to the condition of several bodies, visual identification is not possible, and the DNA testing process may take at least another day. Forensic teams are working round the clock to expedite the results and help families receive confirmation and closure as soon as possible.
The atmosphere at the hospital was somber, with emotional scenes as relatives waited their turn to contribute to the identification process. Authorities assured that every effort is being made to complete the procedure with dignity and accuracy.
