Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh announced on June 5 that the state government is preparing to launch MRI and CT scan services in all government hospitals to make diagnostic care more accessible and affordable for the public. Currently, these imaging services are available only at LNJP and GB Pant hospitals.
To implement this initiative, the government plans to issue tenders and operate the services under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Under the proposed scheme, patients may need to pay around ₹2,500 per scan significantly lower than the ₹6,000 to ₹10,000 typically charged at private diagnostic centres.
Minister Singh emphasized that improving healthcare is central to the city’s development and essential for ensuring a healthier future for its residents.
